Welcome to S.L.I.P. (Sunday Long-form Improv Playground), a monthly space at the Liverpool Arts Bar designed to keep your creative muscles moving and your ideas flowing.
Running on the first Sunday of every month, S.L.I.P. is all about low-pressure, high-energy play. Each session features a unique theme, blending different theatrical genres, narrative structures, and styles to build brand-new, never-to-be-repeated spontaneous performances. Each month, we will create, film and share a brand new spontaneous play with all participants.
Whether you want to shake up your usual improv habits, try out fresh concepts, or simply spend a Sunday afternoon playing with a great community, this is your playground.

- Capacity: Strictly limited to 12 spaces per session

Mike Burton’s improv journey began in 2008 under the training of Adam Meggido, founder of Showstopper! The Improvised Musical and The School of Night. Today, he performs regularly with The Atom, fusing those foundational theatrical roots with the sharp, fast-paced edge of UCB style to create a bold, distinctive presence on stage.
Mark is a multi-award-winning performer, director and teacher with over 30 years of experience. He loves improvisation and storytelling, he brings a wealth of knowledge to developing stories and thrives on spontaneity. His PhD further solidifies his expertise in this area.
