Inspired by Bennett. Shaped by You.

Imagine: a cup of tea, a pair of spectacles, and the thrilling sound of a story unfolding live, as if by magic from a typewriter. Keddy Sutton and Mark Smith invites you to Talking Head Twice, a brand new piece of spontaneous theatre.

Drawing inspiration from Alan Bennett's keen wit and insightful observations, Talking Head Twice captures the subtle nuances of human connection, the humour in the mundane, and moments of unexpected poignancy.

The show begins with your choice. Simply select a shape, and watch as it sparks a completely new, improvised character monologue.

Sarah Hogarth has spent the last decade as co-artistic director of the Liverpool-based All Things Considered Theatre. Her practice is deeply rooted in personal interests and lived experience, with projects often evolving from autobiographical connections. Her notable portfolio includes Control 25 (2015), Pram Talks (2016), Sleepover (2022), and the recent 8 Hours There and Back (2025).

Graham Egerton is a seasoned Production Manager and Technical Theatre specialist with over 30 years of experience across the live arts sector. A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Graham has maintained a prolific freelance career since 1994, spanning set design, construction, live sound, lighting, and stage management.

His extensive portfolio includes large-scale outdoor events, concerts, and traditional theatre. Since 2013, Graham has balanced his professional practice with his role as a Technician and Tutor at the Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) Drama Department, where he mentors the next generation of technical talent.

Keddy Sutton A Rose Bruford graduate, her improv journey began with Ken Campbell performing Farting Around in Disguises at the Everyman to The School of Night at Shakespeare’s Globe and the National Theatre.

Having recently "hung up her turkey legs" in A Scouse Christmas Carol at the Royal Court Liverpool, she is thrilled to be slipping back into her improv shoes alongside long-time collaborator Mark Smith.

Keddy’s extensive stage career includes seasons with the Liverpool Everyman Rep and regular appearances at the Royal Court in hits like Thong for Europe and Sisters of Mersey. On screen, she has appeared in Hollyoaks and Good Cop, and she is the co-creator of the award-winning Caz ‘n’ Britney Present: Scottie Road the Musical. She is currently preparing to guest with Nana Funk at Bingotastic to the Everyman Bistro.

Oliver Boothroyd A South Wales native currently based in Doncaster, Oliver is an audio enthusiast and final-year student at LJMU. Whether he’s designing intricate soundscapes, performing voiceovers, or working behind the scenes as a technician, he is happiest when "in the process." Outside of professional theatre, Oliver produces the Vacuous Dullards Podcast and spends his time playing guitar and experimenting with audio—frequently testing the patience of his flatmates. A lover of sci-fi and Dungeons & Dragons, Oliver brings a storyteller’s heart to every frequency he tweaks.

Mark Smith is a multi-award-winning actor, director, producer, and teacher with over 30 years of experience. Mark loves improvisation and storytelling; he thrives on spontaneity and is passionate about challenging the conventions of what is possible in improvisation and theatre—an expertise further solidified by his PhD in these subject areas.

Mark has taught globally at improv schools and institutions including the Hothouse (LA), Run DMC (Belfast), Exeter University, and LIPA in addition to numerous others. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University, where he runs the Storytelling programme.

Mark is most at home when Making stuff up in the company of others which is also the title of his forthcoming book, due for publication in Summer 2026. In addition, Mark is the founder and co-director of the Liverpool Improvisation Festival.
